The Municipality of Kincardine has appointed Alan Smith as the new Chief Administrative Officer, beginning July 20, 2026. Smith brings more than 20 years of municipal leadership experience and has held senior roles in communities across Ontario and British Columbia. His appointment supports the Municipality’s continued focus on strategic planning, service delivery, and advancing Council priorities.

The Municipality of Kincardine has initiated the process to fill a Councillor-at-Large vacancy following a recent Council appointment. As a by-election is not permitted, Council will appoint a replacement by June 21, 2026, from a defined group of eligible individuals, including past candidates and former Council members.
Bruce County residents are invited to attend a Candidates’ Information Night for those considering running in the 2026 municipal and school board election. The workshop will take place on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bruce County Administration Centre in Walkerton, with options to attend either in person or online.
Council has appointed Councillor Mike Hinchberger as Deputy Mayor following the April 22, 2026 Council meeting. Councillor Hinchberger will serve in the role for the remainder of the current term. Council has declared a Councillor seat vacant, with details on the process to fill the vacancy to be shared in the coming weeks.
