Tiverton Water Tower Preventative Maintenance

Residents/Customers of Tiverton are being asked to conserve water

The Municipality of Kincardine is conducting preventative maintenance on the Tiverton Water Tower which requires the tower to be drained.

Work will include exterior safety features, interior/exterior welding, and interior epoxy application.

The tower will be offline from August 6th to the 22nd, 2024, approximately.

During this time, Stage 2 Water Supply Emergency Restrictions of the Outdoor Water Use By-Law 2006-132 will be in effect.

If you have questions, please contact us at 519-396-4660 or by e-mail.

When Stage 2 of Water Supply Emergency Restrictions is in place, it means that no owner shall:

  • water lawns
  • water gardens (including the use of irrigation systems)
  • wash vehicles or driveways
  • perform filling of pools
  • use decorative fountains (unless water used is continuously recycled)

and other general outdoor water use.

Conserving water indoors would include reducing laundry, cleaning, showering, and reprogramming water softeners to recharge less during this time.

Yes, this work may also impact water pressures, but staff will make every effort to closely monitor the system and pressure.

No, this work will not have an impact on drinking water treatment. Water will continue to receive all necessary treatment and be safe to consume during the project.
