Lagoon Sludge Removal Project Update – Aeration System Trial Begins - September 8, 2026

The Municipality of Kincardine's aeration system trial began this morning, September 8, 2026, with the system coming online at approximately 10 a.m.

As expected following the system's three-month shutdown, strong odours were experienced during start-up.

Staff are now monitoring dissolved oxygen (DO) levels in the aeration cell. Additional sampling will begin in the coming days to monitor treatment performance and assess the results of the trial.

The aeration system trial is expected to continue for approximately 14 to 21 days.
