The Municipality of Kincardine's lagoon aeration system trial began on September 8, 2026. Staff are monitoring dissolved oxygen levels and will begin additional sampling in the coming days to assess treatment performance and the results of the trial. Read the full news item for more information.

Wasp removal work is taking place at Victoria Park today. Residents and visitors are asked to avoid the park while a contractor treats two wasp nests ahead of the Gathering of the Bands event.

The Municipality of Kincardine is recommending stronger protections in Ontario’s proposed Data Centre Playbook, including greater municipal involvement, water and environmental protections, cost recovery, community benefits, transparency and emergency planning. The recommendations are intended to support responsible data centre development while ensuring host communities share in the long-term benefits.

The Municipality of Kincardine will remove the Geddes Park barn during the week of August 31, 2026, due to structural deficiencies. Temporary closures will affect the park parking lot and a section of the Red Trail. The area will be naturalized following demolition, with a heritage plaque anticipated in spring 2027.
