KINCARDINE, ON – The cooler weather last weekend was perfect for firefighters participating in the 2023 FireFit Championships in Saugeen Shores. The Lake Huron Regional Event took place on August 26th and 27th and features a series of competitions based on fire fighting tasks commonly performed in emergency situations.

The Municipality owns and manages the Lake Huron shoreline within the Municipality of Kincardine which is currently being severely impacted by the invasive species Common Reed (Phragmites australis). Due to the aggressive and invasive nature of this plant it is recommended that a combination of herbicides and prescribed burns be used to bring the infestation under control.
