Highlights from the meeting include:

Bruce C Municipal Project Update

The proposed Bruce C Project represents a significant potential growth opportunity for the Municipality of Kincardine, while also creating substantial requirements for community, infrastructure and municipal readiness. Bruce Power is submitting its Federal Impact Statement in November 2026 and a Licence to Prepare Site decision targeted for 2028. The Municipality's 2026–27 work program is focused on key foundational assessments, including employment and commercial land needs, asset management, water and wastewater capacity, fire and emergency services, and municipal service optimization. These studies will build the evidence base needed to make informed decisions about future investment, land-use planning, service delivery and municipal financial sustainability. Regional assessments of health care, education and childcare are also being undertaken to address services that extend beyond individual municipal boundaries.

2026 Community Improvement Plan Program Funding Report

Council approved the 2026 Community Improvement Plan (CIP) third intake funding allocation of $20,000 for Little Beginnings Daycare & Learning Centres under the Predevelopment Study and Design Programs, subject to the conditions and the applicable CIP requirements.

Housing Ad Hoc Committee Proposed Directions Report

Council approved the Housing Action Plan 2.0 created by the Housing Ad Hoc Committee and directed staff to propose resources through the 2027 Mayor's Budget process to support the priorities identified in the Housing Action Plan 2.0 which prioritizes Project 160. To support a coordinated and proactive approach to housing, Council established a Housing Ad Hoc Committee to guide the development of a Housing Action Plan and identify actions the Municipality can take to increase housing supply, diversity and affordability.

The next Municipality of Kincardine Council Meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. This meeting will be held in Council Chambers at the Municipal Administration Centre, 1475 Concession 5, RR #5 Kincardine.
