Depending on the type of recognition, we provide public acknowledgement with a certificate and promotion through our social media channels, website, and economic development e-newsletter. In some instances, invitations are extended to local media and the MP/MPP.

Business to Bruce

Business to Bruce is part of Bruce County's Economic Development team and they're ready to help you with business supports, networking, and entrepreneurial education. They also offer free one-on-one business supports and grants.

Bruce Community Futures Development Corporation

Offering a wide variety of business services, Bruce Community Futures Development Corporation also acts as a Canada-Ontario Business Service Centre offering electronic and hardcopy business resource materials.

Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce

A membership-driven organization, the Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce brings together businesses and professionals to work together for the common good of the community.

Lakeside Downtown Kincardine Business Improvement Association (BIA)

The Lakeside Downtown Kincardine BIA represents more than 160 business in the downtown core of Kincardine, including services, retailers, and restaurants. Their initiatives and events foster the wellbeing of the businesses' and the community.

Regional Tourism Organization 7 (RTO7)

Regional Tourism Organization 7 (RTO7) provides strategic and collaborative leadership to build, sustain, and grow tourism in Bruce, Grey, and Simcoe. They are one of 13 RTOs – independent, not-for-profit corporations - to which the Ontario government provides annual funding to lead tourism planning, marketing and development in their respective regions. Their programs, grants, and resources are designed to help tourism partners, businesses, and stakeholders.

Why Google rather than a business directory?

One of the reasons we chose to use the Google searches rather than a business directory is because it doesn’t require our business owners to have another login, password, and destination to remember to update.

Most businesses already have a Google Business Profile, so we chose this free platform that you’re likely already populated on. If you make updates to your profile, it automatically updates the information that will show on our website, too.

The results will show a business profile on the right-hand side of a desktop browser or at the top of your mobile device.

If you’ve never set-up a business account but you find a business listing, it’s because Google auto-generates listings that are often searched and then uses data from the internet to fill in the information.

To claim your business listing, click Own this business? to start the process.

You can also start from scratch at Google Business Profile to get things set-up.

Google leads you through the process, and once you have access to your profile, updating the content is easy to follow. It will also make sure your information shows up on Google Maps, too.

Keep things up-to-date

Set a reminder in your calendar to regularly check your Google listing to make sure things are up-to-date like your hours of operation and look over any reviews you might be receiving from customers.

In fact, Google reviews are a great place to engage with your customers. It helps your business sit higher in search results when you’ve got an active Google Business Profile where people are singing your praises! Even a poor review gives you an opportunity to reach out to that customer and try to make the experience better.

You can even make it part of your in-store experience to encourage your clients to give a rating or testimonial online.

Held in the spring, this annual event provides a forum where job seekers can attend - for free - to learn more about local industries, businesses, skilled trades, and job training.
