KINCARDINE, ON – The Clerk of the Municipality of Kincardine has issued the Official List of Certified Candidates for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections. Candidates had from May 1st, 2026 until 2 p.m. on Nomination Day, Friday, August 21st, 2026 to submit their nominations. To view a full list of candidates, please visit www.kincardine.ca/elections.
The Clerk certified 13 candidates in total for the nine (9) Council races:
Mayor – Vote for up to one candidate – Kenneth Craig, Barb Fisher, Bill Stewart
Deputy Mayor – ACCLAIMED – Rory Cavanagh
Councillor-At-Large – Vote for up to three candidates – Mike Hinchberger, Michael McKechnie, Darrel Perry, Ali Shah
Councillor Ward 1 – ACCLAIMED – Russ Crook, Jennifer Prenger
Councillor Ward 2 – Vote for up to one candidate – Michael Ferrier, Kyle McKay
Councillor Ward 3 – ACCLAIMED – Amanda Steinhoff-Gray
The races for school board trustees saw candidates certified in each of the four school boards – Bluewater District School Board, Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board, Conseil Scolaire Viamonde, and Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence.
Bluewater District School Board – ACCLAIMED – Jan Johnstone
Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board – ACCLAIMED – Lori Di Castri
Conseil scolaire Viamonde – Vote for up to one candidate – Rachael Golem, Eric Lapointe
Conseil scolaire Catholique Providence – ACCLAIMED – Michael Salvatore
Candidates are acclaimed when the number of certified candidates for the office is the same as the number to be elected. Please note that these acclaimed candidates will not appear on the ballot as they have been elected.
The Municipal and School Board Elections will take place by internet and telephone between October 19, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and October 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m.
