New 3-hour Parking Zone on Queen Street in Kincardine to Make Visiting Easier and More Convenient
KINCARDINE, ON – The new 3-hour parking limit on Queen Street in lakeside downtown Kincardine comes into effect on Thursday, May 1st, 2025. Running from Durham Market Street South to Durham Street, the zone allows parking for periods of 3-hours maximum between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., seven days a week.
The updated zone, along with the other free municipal parking areas, helps to support local business, improves access to storefronts, and enhances the experience of visiting the downtown.
“Our Business Improvement Area (BIA) members requested this change to help better serve their patrons,” commented Jennifer Lawrie, Manager of Legislative Services/Clerk for the Municipality of Kincardine. “It helps to make sure that there is parking in spaces appropriate to visitor’s needs and their length of stay while downtown.”
The 3-hour parking zone is convenient for those who are looking to quickly zip in and out of downtown services. The larger municipal lots off Princes and Lambton Streets, as well parking spaces on side streets off Queen Street, will continue to offer free, all-day parking for those who plan to be downtown for longer stays.
“Asking those who intend on visiting our downtown for more than 3 hours to park in 1 of the 2 large parking lots downtown, means more available spots for quick stops into a business in the downtown core,” said Justine McManus, President of the Lakeside Downtown Kincardine BIA. “Our wish is for the businesses to be easily accessible for everyone.”
As for designated accessible parking spaces, they continue to be without time limit for those who have a permit to use them.
The changes also encourage people visiting the core to consider other options for travel. Active transportation solutions like walking, biking, carpooling, and other eco-friendly ways are an excellent for making your way downtown.
Visit the roads, sidewalks, and parking webpage for more details about the new 3-hour parking zone.
