Council Highlights - June 10, 2026

The Municipality of Kincardine Council Meeting was held in Council Chambers at 1475 Concession 5, RR #5 Kincardine at 5:00 p.m.

Highlights from the meeting include:

2025 Financial Statement Report

Council approved the 2025 Consolidated Financial Statements. The Municipal Act, 2001 requires municipalities to prepare annual audited financial statements. The Municipality of Kincardine’s 2025 external audit has been completed by KPMG LLP. Finance staff met all planned deliverables and timelines throughout the audit process.

Davidson Centre and Tiverton Sports Centre Report

McCallumSather Consultants have completed feasibility studies and concept designs for both the Davidson Centre and Tiverton Sports Centre. The studies explore options to modernize aging infrastructure, increase programming capacity, and respond to long-term community growth. Class D estimates have been prepared to provide preliminary capital cost ranges. The concept designs demonstrate opportunities to enhance recreation services and community space, improve accessibility and circulation, and address aging infrastructure. Council direct staff to proceed to the next phase of project development, including refinement of scope, updated costing, funding strategy and development of a project team to be considered as part of the Mayor’s 2027 budget.

Clean & Clear Yards Update Report

Staff have completed a review of the Clean and Clear Yards By-law. As part of the review staff examined and had legal counsel review the current by-law, the Ruck vs the City of Mississauga case, performed a scan of public health and safety documents, completed a jurisdictional scan including the inclusion of natural areas and provided recommendations for the updates to the By-law. Council direct staff to update the Clean and Clear Yards By-law and bring the by-law back to Council for consideration at a future meeting.

The next Municipality of Kincardine Council Meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. This meeting will be held in Council Chambers at the Municipal Administration Centre, 1475 Concession 5, RR #5 Kincardine.
