Council Highlights - July 22, 2026

Highlights from the meeting include:

Davidson Centre Arena Floor Grant Application Report

Council approved a submission to the Build Communities Strong Fund to assist with the proposed Davidson Centre Ice Floor Replacement Project.

Charitable Donations Policy Report

Council approved the updated Charitable Donations Policy. The updates modernize the Policy to include: clearer definitions, improves administrative responsibilities, improves valuation requirements for gifts-in-kind, enhanced documentation & records retention expectations, added a new section addressing donations of land or real property, and ensures the Municipality continues to issue charitable donation receipts in accordance with the Income Tax Act and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) requirements.

CIP 2026 Application and Funding Allocation Report

Council approved a Community Improvement Plan (CIP) grant in the amount of $11,302.26 to JB's Lingerie under the Building Improvement / Structural Program. The grant will go towards the installation of a new high efficiency HVAC system servicing the commercial property located at 787/789 Queen Street in Downtown Kincardine. The proposed project has a total value of $22,604.52, with the applicant requesting $11,302.26. The project will improve energy efficiency, building performance, accessibility, and the long-term sustainability of a longstanding downtown business that has served the Municipality of Kincardine for more than 51 years.
