Active Transportation Improvements on Queen, Russell and Durham Streets - June 15 - 29, 2026
Work beginning june 15th, 2026
The Municipality of Kincardine is advising residents of upcoming active transportation improvements on Queen Street, Russell Street, and Durham Street as part of Council-approved work to support safer and more accessible travel options for all road users.
On Queen Street, sharrows (shared lane markings) will be installed to indicate that cyclists and motorists share the same travel lane and to help guide safe positioning along the roadway. These markings are intended to improve visibility of cyclists and reinforce safe sharing of the road.
Bike lanes will also be installed on Russell Street and Durham Street. These lanes are part of ongoing efforts to improve connectivity within the community and support active transportation.
Work is scheduled to take place beginning the week of June 15th with completion in early July 2026.
Locations:
- Queen Street: sharrows will be installed Durham Street South to Broadway Street
- Russell Street: bike lanes will run from Highway 21 to Princes Street
- Durham Street: bike lanes will run from Highway 21 to Princes Street
Residents can expect to see new pavement markings in these areas once work is complete. Please use caution when travelling through active work zones and be aware of crews and equipment.
This project is part of Council’s ongoing commitment to improving active transportation options and enhancing road safety for all users.
