Half-Load Restrictions in Effect March 1st - April 30th

To protect municipal roads and reduce maintenance costs during the spring thaw, the Municipality of Kincardine enforces annual half-load restrictions from March 1 to April 30 annually.

During this time, all vehicles are restricted to a maximum of 5 tonnes per axle (5,000 kg or 11,023 lbs) on applicable municipal roads.

Half-load restrictions are currently in effect. Enforcement should be expected on roads where signage is posted, including:

• North Street (year-round)

• All Concession Roads and sideroads throughout the Municipality, except Concession 2 from Highway 21 to its westerly limit

These measures help protect the Municipality’s infrastructure investment and minimize long-term road maintenance costs. It is an offence to contravene these restrictions under Section 122 of the Highway Traffic Act.
