Council Highlights - November 12, 2025

The Municipality of Kincardine Council Meeting was held in Council Chambers at 1475 Concession 5, RR #5 Kincardine at 5:00 p.m.

Highlights from the meeting include:

Short-Term Rental Accommodation (STRA) Report

Council deferred the Short-Term Rental Accommodation (STRA) Licensing By-law, to receive further information. Council previously directed staff to continue the exploration of the STRA Licensing Program in the Municipality of Kincardine. With the increasing presence of short-term rentals, the Program offers opportunity for a local regulatory framework to balance the interests of property owners, renters, and residents.

Extension of Contract for Waste Management Collection

Council approved the contract extension with Bruce Area Solid Waste Recycling (BASWR) expiring December 31st, 2026. The Municipality currently maintains a contract with BASWR for the provision of residential waste collection across the entire Municipality and is set to expire on December 31, 2025.

CAO Hiring Committee Report

Council approved a Terms of Reference for the CAO Hiring Committee, to assist with the recruitment of a permanent Chief Administrative Officer, due to the resignation of Jillene Bellchamber-Glazier effective November 26, 2025. Mayor Craig, Councillor Hinchberger and Councillor Steinhoff-Gray were appointed to sit on the CAO Hiring Committee.

The next Municipality of Kincardine Council Meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. This meeting will be held in Council Chambers at the Municipal Administration Centre, 1475 Concession 5, RR #5 Kincardine.
