Council Highlights - July 9, 2025

The Municipality of Kincardine Council Meeting was held in Council Chambers at 1475 Concession 5, RR #5 Kincardine at 5:00 p.m.

Highlights from the meeting include:

Kincardine Municipal Airport Review Report

Council approved a request to follow up on Ornge/Medevac operation at the Kincardine Airport, to see if emergency services require the airport. Also, direction was provided to staff to develop a Request for Proposal to investigate public/private partnership proposals for the maintenance and operation of the airport and the proposals be brought back to Council for consideration.

Blue Box Transition Report

Council directed staff to investigate expanding the blue box services. In 2021, O. Reg 391/21 was passed requiring producers of packaging to become responsible for managing the end of life for these materials. By 2026, the Provincial program will transition municipalities out of the business of collecting recyclable materials for institutional, commercial, and industrial properties, with responsibility turned over to the producers of products and packaging.

Nuclear Advisory Ad Hoc Committee Report

Council approved the level of services as presented in the Report. The level of service outlines services to be delivered by the Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services Department, ensuring alignment with provincial regulations, community needs and operational capacity. A by-law outlining these services will be provided at a future Council Meeting for consideration.

The next Municipality of Kincardine Council Meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025. This meeting will be held in Council Chambers at the Municipal Administration Centre, 1475 Concession 5, RR #5 Kincardine.
