A Statement from Mayor Craig about Racial Aggressions in the Community

Kincardine, ON – Mayor Craig of the Municipality of Kincardine makes the following statement in relation to an occurrence within our community:

“Most recently, an incident in our Municipality has come to our attention, which is believed to be race-based.

It deeply saddens us to hear of anything which goes against the tenor of this community. We continue to stand together unified, condemning any acts rooted in hate and discrimination.

This Municipality firmly stands in support of inclusion, diversity, and equity, and we will continue to work with all members of our Municipality, particularly those from equity-seeking groups.

Our message is clear: we welcome everyone, irrespective of race, religion, or creed. We will continue to work on inclusion, and specifically, we will have facilitated conversations in September.

We are proud of our Municipality and will continue to move forward in a way that allows us to progress inclusion and diversity education, training, and conversations.”
