Water Meter Replacement Program - Final Phase
If you have not had your water meter replaced, you must do so before July 31st, 2026.
Here is what is happening:
- New water meters are being installed in homes and businesses through our Water Meter Replacement Project.
- 700 were replaced in 2024, 2100 were replaced in 2025, and the final 2000 will be replaced in 2026.
- This year’s installations will focus primarily on homes and businesses in the south end of the Municipality, as well as properties that have not yet had their meters replaced over the past two years.
- KTI Utility Services are contracted to install the new meters and you'll need to book your installation appointment with them directly.
- You'll have received a letter in the mail from KTI Utility services explaining that you can either book an appointment online or by calling 1-833-543-8807.
A few more facts:
- There's no charge for the new meter if you have it done before July 31st, 2026.
- In most cases, the replacement only takes about 20 minutes.
- If no appointment is made and the new meter is not installed, you will receive additional charges on your account up to 4x the minimum bill amount in accordance with By-Law 2023-175, Schedule M - refusal of meter or access to meter.
