Immigration and Ethnocultural Dashboard
What is the purpose of the Immigration and Ethnocultural Dashboard?
Immigrants contribute to our economy, not only by filling gaps in our labour force and paying taxes, but also by spending money on goods, housing and transportation. The purpose of this document is to provide an overview of immigration and ethnocultural statistics to help us think about what actions may be needed to make this Municipality a better place to work, settle and belong for newcomers.
Ultimately, this initiative is meant to inspire discussion. Download the notes sheet, start thinking about, and write your reflections on the following three questions:
- Are you noticing changes in the diversity of people moving to the community?
- Do these changes have an impact on programs and services? And what are those impacts?
- What resources do we need in order to make this community a place to settle, work and belong?
