The Municipality of Kincardine is actively recruiting family physicians to work a combination of clinic, hospitalist, and Emergency Room (ER) shifts.

A significant number of residents do not have access to a regular family practitioner for primary care.  The South Bruce Grey Health Centre – Kincardine Emergency Room is also understaffed and at continual risk of daily or night closures.

Within the Municipality, there are more than 14,000 patients and just 10 family Physicians who - along with primary care - provide hospital inpatient coverage, nursing and retirement home care, pregnancy and baby wellness programs, palliative care, memory clinics, mental health management, and care for patients in all stages of life.

A vibrant community is dependent on reliable access to healthcare. The goal is for every person to have access to a family physician to support their wellbeing and for our hospital to have the necessary physicians to support hospital services and the emergency room.

We are currently looking to add 3 new family physicians to the Municipality of Kincardine.

Incentive program

The Municipality of Kincardine understands that each physician is unique with individual requirements.

Whether you are completing residency training or a relocating physician, the incentive package offered by the Municipality will be tailored to suit your needs.

During a site visit not only will you tour the community and facilities; our physician recruiter will arrange meetings with both the Municipality and the Kincardine Physicians Group. Discussions will encompass any monetary incentive being offered, overhead costs in the Kincardine Hawthorne Community Medical Clinic and look at lifestyle incentives.

It is important for you to obtain all the necessary information to make an informed decision.

The Emergency Department payment is covered under the Alternate Funding Program. The Kincardine Physician Group is a Family Health Organization that operates under a Family Health Organization (FHO).

Locum Opportunities

Locum opportunities are available on a regular basis. There is a need for locums to cover ER /Clinic for local physicians. Locum placements can be on a short term or long-term basis and schedules are flexible to suit your needs.

The Municipality has provided a beautiful home with private rooms for your use during your stay. This home is in a quiet residential neighbourhood within steps to Lake Huron.

This is a great way to discover the area and lifestyle of the Kincardine Rural Physician.
