Kincardine, ON – Council members and senior municipal staff from across Ontario will gather in Ottawa from August 17th to 20th for the 2025 Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Conference.
Representing the Municipality of Kincardine at this year’s conference are Mayor Kenneth Craig, Councillors Rory Cavanagh, Jennifer Prenger, Amanda Steinhoff-Gray, and Beth Blackwell, along with Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Jillene Bellchamber-Glazier.
“The AMO Conference is a key opportunity to engage directly with provincial leaders and advocate for the priorities of our residents,” said Mayor Craig. “Face-to-face meetings help us build relationships, bring important local concerns to the forefront, and work toward solutions that make life better back home.”
Over the course of the four-day event, the Municipality will take part in delegation meetings with three provincial ministries to raise matters critical to the community:
- Ministry of Energy and Mines with Parliamentary Assistant Rudy Cuzzetto
Topics: Bruce C Project – Process Support; Ontario’s Electricity Infrastructure - Ministry of Sport with Parliamentary Assistant Natalie Pierre
Topic: Ongoing Provincial Investment in Recreation Facilities - Ministry of Transportation with Parliamentary Assistant Ric Breese
Topics: Winter Storms and Highway Closures; Streamlining Provincial Permitting to Support Local Development
In addition to these delegation meetings, attendees will take part in conference programming on Emergency Preparedness, Ontario’s energy future, and Great Lakes protection, along with other sessions connecting municipal leaders, provincial officials, and industry partners.
AMO’s annual conference brings together more than 2,000 municipal officials from across the province. This year’s agenda features discussions on municipal infrastructure, climate resiliency, sustainable growth, and the role of local government in powering Ontario’s future.
