Current Job Opportunities

The Snow Plow Operator / Outside Maintainer will be responsible for operating machinery, tools, and equipment to maintain and repair roadways, structures, sidewalks, and infrastructure within the Municipality of Kincardine.

Reporting To: Lead Hand - Operations 

Supervises: Not Applicable

Responsibilities:
1.    Operate equipment in winter snow conditions to clear road and sidewalk surfaces; spread sand and salt as required
2.    Repair and replace road signage and other traffic control devices
3.    Set up construction work zones for traffic control
4.    Remove trees, tree stumps, and operate a chipper to remove trees and brush
5.    Install and remove Christmas decorations
6.    Complete general outdoor maintenance of public areas as required - i.e. pick-up garbage, paint surfaces, trim grass, minor carpentry work
7.    Perform daily safety and maintenance checks, complete minor repairs and maintains logs 
8.    Ensure the health and safety of workers and members of the public around work areas
9.    Comply with Municipality of Kincardine policies and procedures
10.    Perform other duties as assigned by management

Education & Experience Requirements:
•    Post- secondary education and/or industry related experience
•    Minimum 3 years of experience operating machinery and equipment - i.e. snow plows, dump trucks, front-end loaders or graders
•    Possess a valid DZ license and a clean driving record

Required Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
•    Possess knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment common to outdoor municipal operations
•    Knowledge of road and sidewalk repair and maintenance would be considered an asset
•    Ability to work safely and in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and take initiative
•    Excellent customer service skills with ability to deal tactfully and politely with the public
•    Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team
•    Must be physically capable of performing manual labour
•    A demonstrated work history that highlights teamwork and a positive attitude

Employment Information:
•    Casual, Call-In Contract
•    Hours will Vary depending on weather conditions
•    Term of Contract - November 1, 2025 - March 31 2026
•    Group 2 (Step 1 $27.45/hr - Step 5 $33.70/hr)
