Public Notice Document
Open House – Tuesday, June 28th
Residents and businesses are encouraged to attend a drop-in ‘Promenade Open House’ between the hours of 1:00pm- 7:00pm at the Kincardine Centre for the Arts (A-707 Queen Street, Kincardine). Staff will be available to answer questions and concerns about the event. Downtown resident parking and access passes will be available.
Launched in 2020 to support our local businesses and provide a safe space for pedestrians and patrons of the downtown, the Promenade on Queen will return in 2022, commencing every Sunday, starting July 3rd, 2022 through to August 28, 2022 from 10am-4pm.
The Promenade on Queen restricts vehicle traffic on Queen Street in downtown Kincardine from Durham Market North to Lambton Street. It will be a pedestrian friendly area at least 1-hour prior and after the event.
This allows downtown businesses within the closure area, an opportunity to display products outdoors, local artesians to display their goods and restaurants to expand their outdoor patios. It also provides an opportunity to promote physical distancing for those walking through the closure area on days that are typically busier during the summer months.
Accessible Parking and Access
A map identifying accessible parking locations is provided below. A total of 16 accessible
parking locations are provided near the street closure area, including 5 additional spaces that will be temporarily
added for the Promenade event.
Drop Off / Pick up Zone
A temporary drop off / pick up zone will be available near the Durham Market Square North and Queen Street
intersection (see map) for seniors and people with mobility issues.
Mobility Devices and Rollators
Mobility devices, including walkers and rollators, will be available at the Municipal Tent (see map), located near
the Drop Off Zone. The devices will be free for use, but photo ID and a credit card number is required for bookings
to ensure equipment returns or any damages incurred is at the expense of the person responsible for signing
out. Pre-booking is encouraged at tourism@kincardine.ca.
Downtown Resident Parking and Access Passes
Residents that access driveways within the street closure area are encouraged to pick up a special parking and
access pass, that will alert staff and the community of vehicles requiring access through the pedestrian only area.
Passes are available for pick up at the Municipal Office or at the Open House on June 28th.
