The Municipality of Kincardine offers many wonderful beaches, parks and trails.
The of Municipality of Kincardine's Parks and Recreation Department looks after more than 40 parks and 21 playgrounds, each one important to its neighbourhood, making them popular destinations for residents and visitors alike.
Kincardine is a paradise for beach lovers.
Kincardine's main beach area, Station Beach, blends the beauty of an unspoiled beach with the unique history of its community. The restored lighthouse sits guard over the harbour which is a mere saunter to the pier, water, the boardwalk, play equipment, washrooms, change rooms, snack bar and the sand. Play a game of beach volleyball or meander along the boardwalk which runs from the harbour to St. Albert Street.
Horticulture
The Horticulture Department oversees the care and maintenance of all Municipality of Kincardine horticultural displays big and small. These include Hanging Baskets and Annual Planters as well as Annual Beds, Perennial, Shrub and Grass Beds along with assisting with Community Volunteer Planting Beds.
The Horticulture department maintains approximately 128 Hanging Baskets, 99 Annual Planters, 124 Annual, Perennial, Shrub and Grass Beds, 85 Tree Wells and 50 Volunteer Planting Beds.
Care and maintenance of all horticultural displays consist of weeding, pruning, mulching, edging, raking and most importantly watering. All of these tasks and much more are all part of the Horticulture Department.
There are many multi-use trails throughout Kincardine, they are used by pedestrians, cyclists, and others. Accessible year round, there's a trail for every age and activity level.
