Accessibility Survey- Community input needed

The Municipality of Kincardine has launched an Accessibility Survey to understand people’s experiences with Municipal services, programs, and facilities. The input will support the creation of the next Accessibility Plan.  This plan is part of the commitment to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

“The Municipality of Kincardine is committed to learning how we can make our services, programs and facilities meet the needs of people living with disabilities.” said Mayor Glover.

The Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) Chair Sharon Woods stated that “The Multi-Year Accessibility Plan is one of the key documents that helps the (AAC) make recommendations to Council on how we can create an accessible and inclusive community.”

The survey is open to people of all abilities but especially people living with disabilities and their family members, friends or caregivers. The answers to this survey will help identify gaps and barriers that currently exist and will provide ideas on how to reduce and/or eliminate existing barriers in the following areas:

  • Municipal facilities
  • Municipal trails, walkways and sidewalks
  • Municipal programs and activities
  • Municipal Information and Communications
  • Employment
  • Transportation
