Kincardine Hospital Emergency Room Closure
September 23 to September 24, 2022
The Municipality of Kincardine have received notice that the Emergency Department of the Kincardine Hospital will be affected by a closure this weekend.
Due to ongoing staff shortages of both Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses, South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC) will be closing the Kincardine Emergency Department beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 23rd until 7 a.m. on Saturday, September 24th.
Every effort was made to find staff to prevent this from happening.
The inpatient unit of the Kincardine Hospital will remain open. Ambulances will be taken to the nearest open Emergency Department.
Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 911. For non-urgent healthcare needs, Health Connect Ontario is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for non-emergency health-related issues. You can reach them by calling 811.
Our healthcare staff in the Municipality of Kincardine have been working tirelessly throughout the pandemic and we have been fortunate that we have not been affected by this kind of closure sooner.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the Doctors, Nurses, and Support Staff for their dedication to our community.
