Closures Due to High Lake Levels

Posted On Thursday September 17, 2020

Residents are reminded to use caution around along Lake Huron where high lake levels and shoreline erosion have created dangerous conditions.

Lake levels remain higher than normal and some areas are prone to high waves, sudden flooding and ponding when heavy rainfall is combined with high winds.

Staff are inspecting our shoreline, lakeside parks, the piers and harbours daily to assess conditions.  Areas that are signed as closed,  taped or fenced off, including the north and south Piers, may be unsafe and we ask that the public please respect the closures to ensure everyone’s safety.
