Proof of Vaccination Required at Some Municipality of Kincardine Facilities

Posted On Tuesday September 21, 2021

As required by the Province of Ontario, the Municipality of Kincardine will be implementing proof of vaccination upon entry of designated meeting spaces and indoor municipal recreation facilities effective Wednesday, September 22.

The new regulation (O. Reg. 364/20) under the Reopening Ontario (A Flexible Response to COVID-19) Act, 2020 (ROA) means that specified businesses and organizations must ask patrons to provide proof of identification and proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 in order to grant entry to their facilities. Failing to comply with the requirements of these regulations would result in charges against the Municipality of Kincardine.

Proof of Vaccination Requirement applies to the following Municipality of Kincardine facilities:

  • The Davidson Centre, Kincardine
  • Centre for the Arts, Kincardine
  • Kincardine Pavilion
  • Connaught Park Pavilion, Kincardine
  • Kincardine Fire & Emergency Services Station 12, Kincardine
  • Tiverton & District Sports Centre, Tiverton
  • Tiverton & District Lions Club, Tiverton
  • Whitney Crawford Community Centre, Tiverton
  • Armow Hall, Armow
  • Bruce Township Community Centre, Underwood
  • Brucedale Community Centre, Underwood

What does this mean for entry to these facilities?

The Province’s Proof of Vaccination Guidance for Businesses and Organizations under the Reopening Ontario Act (Guidelines) released on September 14 state that, to be admitted entry, patrons must:

  1. Provide proof of identification in the form of a Driver’s licence, birth certificate, passport, citizenship card, Ontario photo card or other government-issued identification, Indian status card or Indigenous membership card or a permanent resident card; and
  2. Provide proof of being fully vaccinated with the last dose received at least 14 days ago. Here’s how to get your proof of vaccination:

This applies to training, practices, games and competitions including sports leagues, organized pick-up sports, dance classes, martial arts and swimming classes
  • Patrons with a medical exemption and a written document from a physician (designated MD) or registered nurse extended class or nurse practitioner

“We’re navigating these unprecedented times together, as we have throughout the COVID-19 pandemic” says Municipality of Kincardine Mayor Gerry Glover. “We hope that the public will be understanding and kind to staff at all affected facilities, including those at our local businesses and municipal facilities, recognizing we’re all required to follow the Provincial legislation.”
