Downtown Kincardine Reconstruction Project Open House

KINCARDINE, ON – The Municipality of Kincardine continues to advance plans for the Downtown Kincardine Queen Street Reconstruction Project set to begin in the spring of 2023.

To help residents, businesses, and property owners understand the scope of the work, a come and go Open House is set for Wednesday, September 21st. The event will run between 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kincardine Centre for the Arts at 707 Queen Street in Kincardine.

“This is a big project,” says Community Economic Development Coordinator Cherie Leslie. “We’re working with Lakeside Downtown Kincardine BIA, the Accessibility Advisory Committee, the Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce, and other groups. We want this to be a positive and successful experience resulting in an improved Downtown.”
The come and go Open House will feature preliminary designs with staff from project engineer B.M. Ross and other organizations available to answer questions and listen to suggestions.

“Construction will be along Queen Street from Durham Market Square South to Durham Street. It will disrupt the side streets as connections are made to existing services and sidewalks,” says Leslie. “We’re building plans to make sure we have lots of communication and provide supports to businesses and downtown residents. The Open House is a great opportunity for businesses and residents to learn more about the project and to tell us what their priorities are.”
