The Municipality of Kincardine is inviting all current or prospective residents to an online Housing Forum on June 8 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30p.m.
In 2021, work began on the development of a Municipal Housing Action Plan, aimed at facilitating or advocating for solutions to the local housing crisis. In April, the Municipality launched a Municipal Housing Survey and collected responses from more than 1,000 individuals. A summary of the results will be shared at the Housing Forum.
“The Municipal Housing Survey filled in gaps in housing data, especially around what type of housing was most desired,” said Mayor Gerry Glover. “Now, the Municipality is in a better position to explore housing solutions that the community has told us they want.”
Housing Forum attendees will also learn about housing solutions being implemented in other communities, including Saugeen Shores and Huron County; take part in a community discussion around housing; and provide input on the Municipality of Kincardine Housing Action Plan.
“The Housing Action Plan will guide how the community develops moving forward,” said Lorie Fioze, Manager of Strategic Initiatives. “We’re hoping to hear from as many current or potential members of the community as possible.”
Registration for the Housing Forum is open at kincardine.ca/housingforum.
