Grey Bruce continues to see a significant number of COVID-19 cases with 99 per cent being the Delta variant. Therefore Grey Bruce is moving to a modified Step 3 with strong recommendations instead of regulatory orders to contain the spread of COVID-19. A slow and modified progression into Step 3 in Grey Bruce will reduce the risk of the current surge worsening. However, that may change to orders if control over the current surge is lost.

The Ontario Government announced that the Province will move into Step 3 of the re-opening plan on July 16, 2021. This will permit the re-opening of indoor sports and recreational fitness facilities subject to a maximum 50 percent capacity of the indoor space, with physical distancing and other restrictions in effect including the active screening of all those that enter the facility for programs. The Municipality of Kincardine will be lowering its flags at Municipal facilities in honour of the 751 children found in unmarked graves at the grounds of a former residential school in in Saskatchewan. 
Following the discovery of another 751 unmarked graves at the site of a former residential school in Saskatchewan, all flags at Municipality of Kincardine facilities will be lowered to honour and mourn the Indigenous children who never returned home...
